The company brought home a total haul of 16 awards, including one Top Award, 7 Awards of Excellence, and 8 Awards of Merit. This year marked a special milestone for Shell, as for the first time ever, it took home a Quill Top Award for the entry ‘Shell Sustains Involvement and Engagement through Elevated Communications’ in the Communication Research division.

At the 15th Philippine Quill Awards by the prestigious International Association of Business Communicators, SciP joined the elite circle of big winners bagging 16 awards. Only one of three top category awardees this year, SciP won the Top Award in the Communication Research category for its entry “Shell sustains Involvement and Engagement through Elevated Communications”, a comprehensive undertaking for understanding internal audience need for information and tailor-fitting a communication approach towards effective engagement and awareness. The entry reigned above various entries competing for the coveted award.  Other SciP programs and campaigns awarded with Excellence honors are: “Access to Energy Project” and “Integrated Support for Indigenous Peoples Program” for Corporate Social Responsibility, “KALSADA (Kabataang Ligtas sa Sakuna at Disgrasya) cares for Children’s Welfare on the Road” for Safety Communication, “Shell Powering Progress Together (PPT)-Asia 2014-2016” for Special Events, “From Newsworthy to Use-worthy: Revitalizing Internal Communications at Shell” for Internal Communication, and “Shell Bike Fair: Creating a Buzz for greater Brand Affinity” for Marketing, Advertising and Brand Communication.

SciP also received Merit honors for “Shell Be Well Program: Reinforcing Wellness and Productivity among its Workforce” for Health Communication, “Driving Smarter Mobility to Address the Energy Challenge through Shell Eco-marathon Asia” for Media Relations, “The Boy Who Could Talk to Bees (PPT Children’s Book) for Writing, “Shell North Mindanao Import Facility: A Game-changer for Energy Security in Visayas and Mindanao” for Community Relations, “Shell Technology Forum: Communicating Business Solutions to Maintain Competitive Advantage and Customer Loyalty” for Customer Relations, and “Response to Communities under Emergencies (RESCUE Program)” and “Ensuring the Future of Philippine Sciences and Engineering: Shell’s S.T.E.M Story” for Corporate Social Responsibility.

These awards won by Shell are testament to its commitment to excellence in business and in developing and implementing programs and campaigns that support business objectives. For over a century, Shell has grown to become one of the biggest companies in the country and continues to be a world-class investment opportunity, a good corporate neighbor investing in development programs and initiatives that have helped buoyed economic growth and progress, and a strong partner of the Filipino people in nation building.

Out of 724 entries received by IABC Philippines this year, SciP emerged as one of top winners from among 140 winners of Awards of Excellence and 148 winners of Merit Awards. The Philippine Quill Awards, held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City last July 5, is an annual recognition programme that seeks to honor strategic and excellent materials and campaigns in the field of business communications.
