Leader in power, energy, and gas technology Shell companies in the Philippines (SciP) was hailed as ‘Company of the Year' in this year’s KAPATID Awards. SciP also got a special citation for the category ‘Social Accountability’ for the company’s contribution to nation-building, and highly relevant social initiatives.

This award is a reminder that collaboration among industry, government and society is needed if we are to power progress together and build a nation. “Trust that we will remain true to our commitment to anchor our business growth on nation-building, securing a sustainable energy future, and strategically partnering with the Philippine government. Patuloy niyo pong kasama ang Shell sa biyahe ng buhay” added Ramon del Rosario, Vice President for External Affairs and Government Relations.

First-time entrant SciP stood out among this year’s entries for being a strong promoter of sustainable development in the country by energising communities all over the country. The awards were conferred by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) – led by its Vice President Ranulfo P. Payos and witnessed by Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III in the 38th National Conference of Employers.

Established in 2005, the Kapatiran sa Industriya Awards has given recognition to companies that have proven themselves model organisations that embody a strong partnership between labour and management in promoting industrial peace and harmony, quality and productivity, social accountability, and strategic visioning.

SciP represents various companies operating in oil and gas exploration, extraction, refining, delivery to consumers and processing services related to finance, human resources, procurement and customer service. Commencing its operations in 1914, SciP has grown to be one of the Philippines’ largest investors, directly employing over 4,000 people nationwide.
